Experience CJK Team – we are a group of talented engineers focusing on building the best search experience for East Asia markets like China mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea for the language and culture affinity. Our team works on but not limited to the following areas related with delivering best search experience – user experience, user understanding, system and infrastructure, data pipeline and aggregation, and various relevance technologies (ranking, query rewriting, related search and query recommendation, document understanding, word breaking and entity recognition, data and knowledge mining, SEO and anti-spam, adult and junk detection, index selection and discovery). Our team works with US, Europe and India teams together to deliver Bing global relevance improvements; meanwhile we also deeply collaborate with marketing team to build features best for the local markets. We are looking for motivated and talented individuals at various career stages of their careers to join us to build the best Bing search experience for CJK markets.

As a Senior Software Engineer, the major job responsibilities include

• &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Work with peer engineering teams and researchers to improve Bing’s relevance and experience in CJK markets;

• &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Apply novel data mining and statistics method to measure and understand the search quality gap and identify space to improve;

• &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Design and implement innovative algorithms, experiments and practical solutions to enhance Bing search quality

Qualifications:

You must have innovative nature, be able to thinking “outside the box”, feel comfortable operating within a fast moving research and development team. Strong mathematic abilities and research background is highly desirable. You should also have great core development skills: strong passion for delivering quality products, proven track record of working in a product group, great design, and excellent written and oral communication. The ability to handle multiple concurrent releases and demonstrated experience driving for results in a cross-group/team project is a must.

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp MS or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, NLP, Machine Learning, Speech or related field

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp 5+ years of experience programming in C/C++/C#, Java and/or other computer programming languages preferred

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Strong capability to apply your statistics, mathematical and algorithmic expertise to solve real problems.

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Ability to derive creative and innovative solutions by thinking "outside the box"

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Expertise in feature definition, design, and feasibility

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience in information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, classification or clustering is a big plus

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Language expertise besides Chinese and English is a plus
